Postdoctoral positions – Lawrence Berkeley National Lab’s
Lawrence Berkeley National Lab (Energy Geosciences Division) has opened three new postdoctoral positions.
- Subsurface Coupled Processes Modeling
The successful candidate will work with PI Jonny Rutqvist on the implementation and application of new multiphysical laws of geological media (rocks and soils) for modeling subsurface coupled thermal, hydrological, and mechanical processes. More info on this page. - Energy Geosciences Modeling
The successful candidate will work with PI Mengsu Hu to apply numerical and machine learning models for fractured, granular, porous geological systems for analysis of mechanics and its coupling with fluid flow and heat transfer within fractures and faults. More info on this page - Earth Pore-Scale Modeling
The successful candidate will work with PIs Mengsu Hu and Carl Steefel to develop and apply novel pore-scale numerical tool sets to analyze fundamental earth processes of formation and evolution of sedimentary rocks, including potentially carbonate compaction, fracture healing and clay swelling. More info on this page.
