Post-doctoral position on Anchors Sharing in centrifuge at the Gustave Eiffel University, Nantes, France

           

France Energies Marines institute (and the Gustave Eiffel University) are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral candidate for 18 months in “geotechnical engineering: physical and numerical modelling”. The physical modelling aspect consists in performing an experimental campaign in centrifuge on the anchors multidirectional loading. The second part is about the numerical modelling of the centrifuge tests. The application deadline is 31st October 2022. Applicants must be available to start around the very beginning of 2023. More details about the offer and the application procedure here.

Postdoc position at Delft University of Technology – Optimisation of offshore monopile installation

Applications are welcome for a 21-month postdoc position to investigate the optimisation of the monopiles installation process and to study the dynamic behaviour of soil during pile installation using the physical modelling facilities at TU Delft. The work will include design and implementation of advanced instrumentation for physical modelling studies. Test planning and data interpretation will be carried out in close collaboration with industry experts in the framework of BLUE piling project. Candidates should possess a PhD degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering or related areas, proven experience in geotechnical centrifuge testing, preferably including soil-structure interaction problems and dynamic loading, and excellent knowledge of soil mechanics and foundation engineering. Acquaintance with offshore wind geotechnics is also appreciated (but not mandatory).

E-UNSAT 2020 Lisbon – postponed to 19-21 October 2020

Due to the COV-19 outbreak in all European countries in the last weeks, in agreement with the Chair and the Secretary of the TC-106, E-UNSAT 2020 conference to be held in Lisbon, Portugal, will be postponed. The new dates have been fixed to October 19-21, 2020.
Postponing the conference was necessary to allow for safe travelling and enjoying the event. Hopefully this delay will be enough for the emergency to be over. Further information can be found at https://eunsat2020.tecnico.ulisboa.pt

4th European Conference on Physical Modelling in Geotechnics

The 4th European Conference on Physical Modelling in Geotechnics takes place from March 15th to 17th, 2020 in Luleå (Sweden). Abstract submission for full paper or extended abstract is open till December 8th, 2019. Contributions are due end of January.

E-UNSAT 2020 Lisbona – call for abstracts

Vi segnaliamo la call for abstracts per la IV Conferenza Europea sui Terreni Parzialmente Saturi, E-UNSAT 2020, organizzata dall’Instituto Superior Tecnico di Lisbona in collaborazione con la Delft University of Technology e l’Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, che si terrà a Lisbona dal 24 al 26 Giugno 2020. Sono Conference Chairs Rafaela Cardoso, Cristina Jommi e Enrique Romero.

La scadenza per l’invio degli abstract è il 19 Maggio 2019. Si auspica, come per le precedenti edizioni, una significativa partecipazione della comunità geotecnica italiana.

Mini-Simposio “Theoretical, Numerical and Physical Modelling in Geomechanics”, Roma, Settembre 2019

In occasione del prossimo convegno organizzato dallAIMETA (Associazione Italiana di Meccanica Teorica e Applicata), che si terrà a Roma Sapienza dal 15 al 19 Settembre 2019 (http://www.aimeta2019.it/), è stato organizzato un Mini-Simposio, proposto da Claudio Tamagnini, Cristina Jommi e Angelo Amorosi, dal titolo “Theoretical, Numerical and Physical Modelling in Geomechanics: from the micromechanics of granular materials to geotechnical engineering applications”.

È possibile inviare sommari entro il 28 Febbraio 15 Marzo 2019, seguendo le indicazioni riportate in http://www.aimeta2019.it/autori/. Le memorie (in lingua inglese) saranno pubblicate da Springer nella serie “Lecture Notes in Mechanical Engineering”, indicizzata in Scopus e WOS.

Si auspica una qualificata e numerosa partecipazione all’evento.

Il GNIG (Gruppo Nazionale di Ingegneria Geotecnica) si propone di promuovere il coordinamento delle attività di ricerca e di formazione nel Settore Scientifico Disciplinare ICAR07 – 08/B1 ‘Geotecnica’, di curare le relazioni con gli altri Settori Scientifico Disciplinari, con gli Organi di Governo dell’Università e con le Associazioni Scientifiche e Culturali del Settore.
