Two Invited Seminars on Contemporary Danish Geotechnical Engineering – 30 giugno 2026 Sapienza Università di Roma

Dear Colleagues,
The Department of Structural and Geotechnical Engineering of Sapienza University of Rome is pleased to announce two invited seminars on contemporary Danish geotechnical engineering, to be delivered by Prof. Yuepeng Dong (Technical University of Denmark) and Prof. Andrea Franza (Aarhus University).
The seminars will take place on Tuesday, 30 June 2026, from 15:30 to 17:30, at the former Library of the Department of Structural and Geotechnical Engineering, Via Eudossiana 18, Rome.
The presentations will address recent advances in geotechnical engineering, with particular focus on bearing capacity of soils, excavation-induced ground movements, tunnelling and soil–structure interaction.

Il prossimo venerdì 25 giugno, dalle 15:30 alle 16:30, il Dr. Nunzio Losacco, ricercatore presso il Politecnico di Bari, terrà un seminario telematico in lingua inglese dal titolo: “Numerical modelling of mechanised tunnelling: from simplified to detailed approaches“.
L’evento è organizzato dal gruppo di ricerca di Geotecnica del DICATECh, Politecnico di Bari, e si terrà sulla piattaforma Microsoft Teams.

Position at Technical University of Graz (Austria)
Graz University of Technology, Faculty of Civil Engineering Sciences, has an immediate opening for a fully funded position (40 hours a week) as tenure track professorship for women in the field Geotechnics / Tunnelling with in-depth knowledge of Data Science / Artificial Intelligence at the Institute of Rock Mechanics and Tunnelling. After fulfilment of the qualification agreement, the candidate will be appointed as associated professor (permanent position).
