Smart soil stabilisation – PhD position at NTNU, Trondheim

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) has an open position for a PhD candidate in smart soil stabilisation. The focus is on evaluating non-destructive monitoring techniques for soil stabilisation using laboratory and field trials and utilizing industry by-products for soil stabilisation. Knowledge Transfer Partnership Associate at the University of Strathclyde

 

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Strathclyde in partnership with a civil engineering contractor is seeking to appoint a Knowledge Transfer Partnership Associate (22-24 months) in the area Ground Engineering with a focus on developing deep technical understanding of the principles and processes controlling the use of  inorganic latent hydraulic binder as a binding agent for improving the mechanical performance of soil for Smart Surfaces.

EGU 22 – Session ERE 2.5 – Shallow geothermal systems for heating and cooling: geoscience and engineering approaches

The session ERE 2.5 at the EGU General Assembly 2022 welcomes contributions about shallow geothermal energy applications, including traditional closed- and open-loop borehole heat exchangers as well as so-called energy geostructures (e.g. thermo-active foundations, walls, tunnels).
Due to the continuing difficulties that many people in the EGU community, all around the world, are experiencing, the abstract submission deadline  is being extended to  friday, 14 january 2022. More info on this flyer.

Gustave Eiffel University, Nantes, France PhD position on energy geo-structures


Gustave Eiffel University is looking for a highly motivated PhD candidate to work on the numerical and physical modelling of energy geo-structures.

The physical modelling aspect consists in developing a new small-scale model of energy pile tested in centrifuge.
