Avviso seminario 26/11/2020 (annullamento)

Effects on natural environment and seismic microzonation” tenuto dal Dott.

  • 11 novembre: “Nonlinear dynamic analyses of embankment dams” tenuto dal Prof. Ross W. Boulanger della University of California at Davis (EGE_seminar_univaq_Boulanger)
  • 21 ottobre:  “Non-invasive seismic test” tenuto dal Prof. Sebastiano Foti del Politecnico di Torino (Locandina_EGE_univaq_Foti)

Postdoc position at Delft University of Technology – Optimisation of offshore monopile installation

Applications are welcome for a 21-month postdoc position to investigate the optimisation of the monopiles installation process and to study the dynamic behaviour of soil during pile installation using the physical modelling facilities at TU Delft. The work will include design and implementation of advanced instrumentation for physical modelling studies. Test planning and data interpretation will be carried out in close collaboration with industry experts in the framework of BLUE piling project. Candidates should possess a PhD degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering or related areas, proven experience in geotechnical centrifuge testing, preferably including soil-structure interaction problems and dynamic loading, and excellent knowledge of soil mechanics and foundation engineering. Acquaintance with offshore wind geotechnics is also appreciated (but not mandatory).

Full description of the position along with the details on how to apply can be found in the following link: https://www.tudelft.nl/over-tu-delft/werken-bij-tu-delft/vacatures/details/?nPostingId=598&nPostingTargetId=632&id=QEZFK026203F3VBQBLO6G68W9&LG=UK&mask=external

For more information about this vacancy please contact Dr. Amin Askarinejad: A.Askarinejad@tudelft.nl.

The closing date for the applications is August 9th, 2020.

Researcher position at CEREMA (France)

The Centre for Studies CEREMA, in France, is looking for a researcher in geotechnical earthquake engineering for a project on the measure and analysis of dynamic soil parameters and characterization of the associated uncertainties. The candidate must have an expertise on dynamic soil behavior and laboratory measurement. A knowledge in seismic site response will be much appreciated. The selected  candidate will be based in either Nice or Aix en Provence.

CEREMA (Centre for Studies and Expertise on Risks, Mobility, Land Planning and the Environment) is a State agency of scientific and technical expertise, in support of the definition, implementation and evaluation of public policies, on both national and local levels. It is placed under the supervision of the French ministries in charge of sustainable development, town planning and transportation.

Deadline: 15/06/2019

More information in the attached announcement: CDD-Cerema-SIGMA2-english

Researcher position at École des Ponts ParisTech

Researcher position open at École des Ponts ParisTech, Paris, France.

The successful candidate will develop research in numerical modelling of soil-structure interaction under complex loadings including dynamics. Fundamental and numerical studies will be developed in relation with experimental studies performed in Laboratoire Navier and by outside partners. In addition to the development of classical techniques for numerical modelling of materials and structures (FEM, BEM, FFT, …), the valorization of big data gathered from the monitoring of geotechnical structures will be a priority area of research. This includes the development of new tools based on artificial intelligence systems for modelling and design in geotechnics.

Deadline: 18 April 2019
