Invitation to AGERP lecture series (update)

The AGERP – Advancements in Geotechnical Engineering: from Research to Practice – Organising Committee invites you to a lecture series which aims to disseminate the coupled learnings from academia and industry on some of the key topics in geotechnical engineering. It is a pro bono initiative, and the lectures are free to attend.

The 10th installment will be on ‘Improvement of Soft Soils with special reference to Transport Infrastructure‘. This is scheduled to be hosted on 13th November 2020 (AEST). Registration (free and mandatory) for this lecture closes at 00:00, 12th November 2020 (AEST). This Lecture will be delivered by Prof. Buddhima Indraratna (University of Technology Sydney, Australia) and  Dr. AHM Kamruzzaman (Transport for NSW, Australia).

PAST LECTURES

The second lecture, titled “Geophysics for Geotechnical Engineers“, will take place on June 25, 2020 (flyer).

The third lecture will be delivered by Prof. Catherine O’Sullivan from Imperial Collage, UK and Mr. David Wines from Itasca Australia Pty. Ltd. The lecture will be on ‘Advanced Numerical Methods and Modelling in Geotechnical Engineering’. This is scheduled on 9th July 2020 and registrations (free and mandatory) close one day before the lecture (flyer)

The fourth lecture of AGERP series which will be delivered by Em. Prof. Malcolm Bolton from Uni. of Cambridge, UK and Dr. Chris Haberfield from Golder Associates Pty Ltd., Australia. The lecture will be on ‘Design of Pile Foundations’. This is scheduled on 24th July 2020. Registration (free and mandatory) opens at 18:00, 09th July 2020 (AEST) and closes at 00:00 23rd July 2020 (AEST).

The 5th lecture will be on ‘Geohazards‘ and will be delivered by Professor Sarah Springman from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH Zurich), Switzerland and Dr. Barnali Ghosh from Mott MacDonald, London, UK. This is scheduled on 14th August 2020.

The 6th lecture will be on ‘Mechanics of Unsaturated Soils’ and will be delivered by Professor Em. Delwyn Fredlund from University of Saskatchewan, Canada and Dr. Murray Fredlund from Bentley Systems, Canada. This is scheduled on 29th August 2020. Registration (free and mandatory) for this lecture closes at 00:00, 28th August 2020 (AEST). For further information, please refer to the attached flyer.

The 7th installment will be on ‘Biogeotechnics‘. This is scheduled on 3rd October 2020 (AEST). Registration closes at 00:00, 2nd October 2020 (AEST). This Lecture will be delivered by Professor Jason T. DeJong (University of California, Davis, USA) and Dr. Dimitrios Terzis (Managing Director, MeduSoil).

The 8th installment will be on ‘Sensors and NDT Techniques in Geotechnical Engineering’. This is scheduled on 16th October 2020 (AEST). Registration closes at 00:00, 15th October 2020 (AEST). This Lecture will be delivered by Professor Kenichi Soga (University of California, Berkeley, USA) and Dr. Wayne Muller (CodedRADAR, Queensland, Australia).

The 9th installment will be on ‘Energy Geotechnics’. This is scheduled on 30th October 2020 (AEST). Registration (free and mandatory) for this lecture closes at 00:00, 29th October 2020 (AEST). This Lecture will be delivered by Professor Marcelo Sanchez (Texas A&M University, USA) and Dr. Fleur Loveridge (University of Leeds, England).
